Adoption starts with love. Love for children, cheering for their happiness and bright future. Today, there are millions of kids who are still waiting for this love, but fears and doubts of parents stand in the way. Our mission is to help overcome these prejudices and uncertainty.
Riley and Kashia have always wanted to adopt since before they met. Both of their moms are adopted, one of Kashia’s siblings is an adoptee. This theme has always been natural in their families. Riley and Kashia say "adoption is in our blood".
After a couple of years of trying to get pregnant on their own, Riley and Kashia just knew that adoption would be happening a lot sooner rather than later. They'll always remember the feeling when they saw Lemmon, Honey and Magnolia together. It was like they knew them already. These girls were a part of Palmer’s missing piece.
Each adoption was different. Lemmon's took 2 months, Honey's - 11 months, Magnolia's - 4 weeks. The youngest sister joined the family during the quarantine period. Her siblings could not come to the hospital, so the sweet reunion took place at home. It was like the whole world had disappeared and nothing outside of the Palmers’ home could shake this happy family.
In addition to the joy and great love they felt, Riley and Kashia were also concerned about many things. They always wanted to have an open to semi-open adoption so that their children could have a connection with their birth families. This was out of their control, but everything turned out for the best. These little girls have twice as many loved ones.
Advice from Palmer Family:
“Be patient in the process! Adoption takes time for a reason, it needs to all flow together. Birth mom with adoptive families, the way you find your baby. It all has to match up, so be patient and know that it'll happen right when it's supposed to!”.
